Looking for Quality Learning Resources? The ERAC Resource Collection is Coming Next Week!
ERAC will deliver more value to members with the new online, searchable collection of BC-evaluated resources!
Teachers, schools and districts will be able to quickly find products to meet their resource needs using a keyword, common criteria in the basic search or by refining their search parameters in the advanced search including a particular subject, class or grade.
Searches will show a short annotation about the product and then allow ERAC members access to an ERAC Review. It details further product information and an evaluation summary to facilitate purchasing decisions.
The Collection starts with the most recent novel and ERAC evaluations so your search results may be limited at first. It is set to grow constantly with Ministry Recommended and locally approved entries being added as ERAC, its members and the vendor community work together. ERAC Reviews of historical Ministry or locally approved resources will vary from the detailed evaluation results of ERAC evaluated products.
Attractive stylized icons used in ERAC's Collection draw attention to key product consideration and their colours and content carry distinct meanings. Moving your cursor over an icon indicates, for example, whether it's ERAC-Evaluated or Ministry-Recommended, and if there are social consideration cautions.
Quick Tips on Icons:
- graphic depicts the type of resource: novel, print, software, reference,
- letters on the icon highlight a user other than students or to indicate a resource is digital: TE=Teacher, e=digital
- color signifies user specific information: blue is a classroom learning resource, red is special interest, purple tells the product grouping, yellow notes cautions, green indicates value
